On Friday evening, before the rain came down on the Pic Saint Loup, we finished harvesting the grapes for the 2023 season.
Although the season had begun with heavy mildew pressure, we were pleased to harvest the crop in good conditions, which augurs a better vintage than the first two years of the Domaine's existence.
Both quantity and quality are on target.
The only downside of the year concerns the Cinsault grapes, which were unable to reach optimum ripeness due to the heatwave at the beginning of September. This episode caused the foliage to drop and the ripening of the bunches to stop almost immediately.
The estate's new cellar has given us complete satisfaction, both in terms of the processes implemented and the comfort of the work tool (walkways, lighting, acoustic comfort).
Many thanks to the whole team for all their hard work throughout the season.
The coming days will be devoted to work in the cellar, with the first devatting operations already underway for several days.
As soon as the season is over, the vineyard team is back at work to prepare the plots for the next season.
